Good morning.
The honourable teacher and my beloved friends.
First of all, let us thank to God for His blessings, because of His blessings we can get together here in good health. Secondly, I’d like to thank for the time given to me so I can stand here to deliver my speech. The title of my speech is Our Independence Day.
Ladies and Gentlemen,
As we all know, because of the colonialism, more than 300 years our country lived in suffer and bad condition. Many efforts were made to repel the colonists. Treasure and blood has been sacrificed to achieve a freedom. The culmination of all struggles done by the Indonesian people happened on August 17th, 1945. On the behalf of all the people of Indonesia, Soekarno – Hatta proclaimed the Independence of Indonesia.
August 17th became the most important day for Indonesian people. All Indonesian people are looking forward to welcome it. They usually held many games and competitions such as “panjat pinang”, “balap karung”, etc.
In 63 years this nation has tasted its freedom. In that length of time this country become a big nation with the richness of its cultures. But in this era of globalization, whether Indonesia was independent and free?
Sometimes I wonder, why Indonesian people like to think and comment negatively with our own country?
Ladies and Gentlemen,
Indonesia is our country. Don’t judge that our country is bad. We as young generations should be able to think and do something for the advancement of Indonesia. Stop deriding our government. Refrain from acts of anarchy. Forget, leave, ignore all the bad. Let forward for a better Indonesia.
The future of Indonesia is in our hands, the young generation. God will not change one's fate if he doesn’t want to try. Don’t give up the younger generation! Do the best for Indonesia! Whatever happens today, let us be grateful and we strive for.
Let's celebrate Indonesia's Independence Day with pleasure. There is nothing better than our own country. Okay, I think that’s all for my speech. I’m sorry if I have mistakes in delevering my speech. Thanks for your attention.
